Discovery Park Entrance

Your Discovery HOA, Colorado Springs Parks, Colorado Springs Utilities, Rockrimmon Elementary School and several local businesses partnered in 2014 to make the Pebble Way entrance to Discovery Park safer and more welcoming to all. Discovery HOA is now responsible for the general maintenance of the entrance.

Eight Discovery volunteers turned out May 7, 2016
to put in some quality time weeding and burying drip lines.

We tidied up the area in 2016, and we have continued to work with the City Parks Department to replace plants and mulch as necessary. We performed minor maintenance -- weeding, trimming and burying drip lines -- in 2017-2019. Kim Graves of the Colorado Springs Parks Department oversaw a major renovation in 2020 that included removing the Virginia Creeper vines that were taking over the upper part of the entrance, removing "fatigued" plants and shrubs, realigning and burying the drip system, "refreshing" the mulch, and installing new plants. Our thanks to Kim and the City Parks Department!

We will once again assume minor maintenance of the entrance. We typically weed and trim in the spring to prepare for the growing season, then once more in the fall to prepare for winter. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated!

Working side by side with Discovery neighbors is a good reminder that we live in a choice location.  Be on the lookout for additional organized opportunities to help prepare the area for the start of the growing season and occasional clean-up days during the warmer months.

If you enjoy gardening -- or would just like to help out -- volunteers are always welcome. If you are interested, please contact our Administrator at, or (719) 964-4122 to ensure we can contact you when opportunities arise.

We will publish detailed information in the COMING EVENTS area once dates have been determined.

Stop by and enjoy this enhancement to our neighborhood!
