DHOA Annual Meeting Minutes for 2015

Synopsis

The Discovery Homeowners Association Annual Meeting was held Oct. 20, 2015 at Woodman Valley Chapel. A quorum of residents was present, thereby allowing official business to be conducted. The 2016 Budget was adopted by unanimous vote. It is a near replica of the 2015 Budget, which resulted in a surplus, thereby increasing our Reserve Fund balance. The 2016 Budget is now available on the web site, along with the 2015 Budget/Actual. Your HOA is in excellent financial shape, which says a lot for our low fee structure and prudent oversight of expenditures.

Elections resulted in the addition of two new HOA Board members, Sergio Rosa and Rick Midtbo. The terms of Carole Thurston and Jack Lundberg were extended for one additional year, which required approval of an exception to our By-Laws.

Updates on the 2015 Firewise Project (to be conducted again in 2016) and street paving projects were provided by representatives of the Fire Department and City Street Department. Our City Council Representative, Don Knight, explained the situation which has resulted in a “Marijuana Social Club” opening adjacent to the Rockrimmon Post Office. We are very concerned about the presence of this business in our neighborhood and will keep you advised of developments in this area.

Thanks to those who attended and we hope you will all consider attending next year’s meeting. This is a great way to learn of the activities of your Association and to meet your neighbors.
